DAMMIT! bought the box and ordered my chip. Finally got around to opening it up and there it hard-resin/epoxy all over the pins I need, is there an easy way to get that shit off of there?

This is GORD from teh company with the big T you worked for...

You've got a few options. Best one being a FW flash!!

But if you really really want that epoxy off, you can use chemicals to soften it and pick it off, or you can use a heat gun. Videos are on youtube showing how to do it.
